Love Does is an opportunity for us as believers in Christ to go into the community and show love to the people around us. The $20 you were given at church is a catalyst for you to show God's love to those around you.
Guidelines for Giving
- Consider the relationships that are beyond your immediate family. We want you to think beyond the walls of your home and seek how this $20 gives you the freedom to be a blessing to those God puts in front of you.
- Feel free to match... triple or even quadruple the $20 you were given. You are not limited to just giving away $20. Seek and ask God how much he wants you to add on top of what you were given.
- Seek out relational giving! Anonymous pay it forwards can be great, but we want this to go beyond random acts of kindness. Ask how God has placed specific people or groups in your life to be a blessing to.
- And most importantly, bring the Holy Spirit into the conversation. Use this prayer below to help you get started:
"Lord, open my eyes to the burdens around me. Open my ears to the needs of friends, co-workers, and overlooked groups. Open my heart for how you want me to be generous beyond $20. Allow this movement of Love Does to go further than a transfer of money. Make us your hands and feet as we show your love to those around us."

Below are a few lists that can help you get started thinking about where and how you are going to give. These are only suggestions! We want you to think outside of the box and be tender to where the Holy Spirit is leading you to give.
Individually
- Put together and give away hygiene kits for the homeless
- Put together and send a care package and card to a TrueNorth outreach partner (List of Outreach Partners)
- Leave snacks, gifts, and a thank you note for a delivery driver at your home
- Provide a meal for a family who is going through a difficult or changing season (ie. New baby, recently deployed family member, grieving family, foster families, etc.)
Small Group (3-4 people)
- Purchase groceries for a person or family in need
- Provide donuts/pastries to a group of city workers (ie. Public Safety, Municipal Building staff, etc)
- Buy a new appliance (ie. Coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, etc.) or restock a local schools teacher lounge with snacks and treats
Large Group/Journey Group (10-20 people)
- Buy a set of tires for someone in need
- Pay the car or mortgage payment for someone who lost their job or is out of work
- Pay a medical bill
