When we’ve been blessed to receive God’s gift of grace and freedom through the death and resurrection of Jesus, it’s only natural to want to bless others with that same hope. However, often we feel anxious and inadequate to share with others. B.L.E.S.S. is an acronym for five straightforward practices that will allow every Christ follower to share God’s love in a relational manner with friends, neighbors, and coworkers. We’ve been blessed to bless others!
We highly recommend you read and dive into the book, B.L.E.S.S. The book breaks down the acronym and unpacks how you can live them out in your daily life.

B - Begin with Prayer
Prayer is expressing your desire to join God in his mission. Through prayer God changes us and through us God changes the world. Through it we discover God’s calling, mission and power in our own lives. Begin praying daily for the friend, neighbor, co-worker, or family member that you desire to know Jesus.
L – Listen
Listening is a critical expression of love. When people feel unheard and unknown it ultimately leaves them feeling unloved. When we listen to someone, it provides an opportunity to give value, hope, and healing. Scripture encourages us to be quick to listen and slow to speak.
E – Eat
When we look at the practices of Jesus, we recognize that there are many moments in his life in which grace and truth is shared while he was eating with people. Meals were not used to keep people out but to invite everyone in. Jesus ushered in his kingdom one meal at a time. When we sit at the table for a meal, we find common ground with others. There is no wall that food can’t break down.
S – Serve
We live in a world that’s all about me and our me-first view points. It’s very different than Jesus’ model and message. Jesus offered us a fresh way of thinking and living by serving others. He said the greatest among you is the one who serves. When we serve others, our lives open hearts for His hope to be heard.
S- Share Your Story
Everyone has a story. You have a story worth telling. God speaks through your story into others story. God’s invites our micro story into His macro story. Share your story of God’s amazing grace with your neighbor.
