Audition

Thanks for your interest in being a part of leading worship at TrueNorth Church. TrueNorth values every opportunity that we have to join in worship together and thus we place a great deal of time into seeking out skilled musicians to lead in our environments. Prior to submitting your video and information, please read all of the details below regarding the application process.

Things to Know

  • If you are selected to be an addition to our worship team, we also would ask that you commit to being a part of our church family.
  • We are looking for musicians who carry with them a significant amount of experience in their respective instrument. Additionally, your character and spiritual health are just as important to us. Please know that many factors play into our decision making process regarding advancing eligible candidates.
  • While we are always looking for new musicians and vocalist, some positions on our team have less open spots available. While you may be a great musician and fit, we value keeping our teams at a manageable rotation level. If you do not receive an email response to your application immediately, there may not be any open spots at your position available. We will keep every audition application in our system for future availability.
  • Our Main Stage Sunday environment requires leaders to be 16 years of age or older to apply.
  • In order to officially apply –  you must send an email that contains the answers to the questions below AND a video of you playing or singing a song from the suggested artist and era below.

Application  Questions

  • What is your name and age?

  • How long have you been attending TrueNorth?

  • Tell us about your relationship with Jesus.

  • Which instrument(s) are you auditioning for? How long have you been playing this instrument?

  • Can you play with a click track? If you are auditioning for keys, guitar, or bass, do you know the Nashville number system?

  • Rate yourself from 1-10 on your instrument? How many hours a week do you spend practicing?

  • Do you have any experience playing in another church? If so, please list the church name.

Video Submission

For the next step of the audition, please submit a video of you singing or playing a song (or two) from one of the artist below. Please select a song that is from the year 2010 or newer.

Artist: Hillsong Worship, Hillsong UNITED, Hillsong Y&F, Bethel Music, Elevation Worship, Maverick City Music, or Passion Music

If you are auditioning for an instrument, please play with the original recording of the song. If you are auditioning for vocals, please submit your song singing with the original track AND an a cappella version.
