Prayer is one of the biggest stress relievers and safeguards in my life. Anytime I feel stressed, I pray. When I am afraid, I pray. When I worry, I pray. It gives me so much strength to physically open my hands and ask the Lord to take my troubles from me.  My attitude of submission when I come before God enables me to give my stress, worries, and anxieties to him. Allowing myself to rest in his love gives me the strength to keep going even on hard days when I’m worn out and tired.

Have you been dealing with stress lately? Maybe it is anxiety or pain. Whatever you are struggling with, know that the God of rest is available to you. He is emotionally available, always present and near. He doesn’t enjoy watching us wallow in shame or feel disappointed in ourselves. In fact, he delights when we come to him with our issues.

“The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.”  Psalm 147:11

There is no love like our Heavenly Father’s love. Today, He invites you to find refuge and strength in his arms. You can be sure that no one can provide you with the help, rest, and hope you need like He can. He loves you and wants you just as you are. Sometimes it is difficult to believe this statement, but it’s true. He invites each of us to stop laboring in our difficulties and find complete rest and wholeness in him.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
