Spring, out of any season, makes me think of being transformed. The bare naked trees from winter come forth almost magically with blossoms and greenery. By simply looking at them in winter it would seem impossible that such beauty could come from something so dormant and dead just a few weeks before.

God sends us seasons in our lives to remind us of what only He can do. Broken hearts and bodies can be healed. Lost can be found. Terrible, ugly darkness can be turned into marvelous, beautiful light.

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27

God’s Word and spending time with Him helps renew our mind and heart. Patterns of this world tell us to worry only about what we want and stay busy in our selfishness no matter the cost to feel alive. This only leads to more dead-end branches. But God is trying to transform us into His likeness, from death to life. Sometimes this may require a season of rain or heavy pruning in our lives. We can be sure that the sunshine and growth is just ahead as we surrender to the Master Gardener and press on. Transformation comes by the renewing of our mind.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

There was a man who died a gruesome, painful death. Those who looked on lost all hope in the new life they thought His life would bring to theirs. This man was Jesus, God’s Son, who died on the dead wood of a tree to save us from our sins. It is God’s transformation of raising Jesus to life that gives us absolute faith that He can transform us too.

“Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.” 1 Corinthians 6:14

Maybe the season you are in has tarried a little longer than you would have hoped. There is a lesson and a closeness with the Father that he longs to bring forth in you. Wait for it. The beautiful blossoms are only just beneath your branches. Are you ready for the transformation? You only need the faith the size of a mustard seed to believe.
